Privacy Notice

Association for Christian Character Development (ACCD) follows the guidelines of the "Safe Harbour" framework for privacy protection as approved by the USA and the EU (http://www.export.gov/safeharbor).

ACCD has adopted a set of information management guidelines to demonstrate our organization's commitment to privacy. Please be assured that the privacy of our visitors is important to us. We collect no personally identifiable information about you when you visit our site unless you choose to provide such information to us by becoming a registered web site user or participation in one of our training events. The Site offers a Consent Notice prior to the collection of any such information. Please take the time to carefully review the Consent Notice.

The specific practices outlined in this Privacy Notice apply to the www.accd.org site (the "Site") maintained by ACCD. Our liasions may have slightly different practices, though our overarching commitment to your privacy will always be the same.

Some of our web pages contain links to sites outside of our Site. Please be aware that when you follow a link to another site, you are then subject to the privacy policies of the new site, and our privacy policies, including without limitation this Privacy Notice, no longer apply. ACCD makes no warranties as to the content or reliability of any sites or web pages linked by our Site.

What information does the ACCD gather or track about you?

For each HTTP (which is what your web browser generates when you request a page or part of a page from a web site) request received, we may attempt to collect and store the following personal information:
  

  • E-mail address, name, phone number, mailing address or other requested demographic information
  • IP Addresses: The ACCD logs IP addresses of visitors for its system administration and troubleshooting purposes only. (Your IP address indicates the location of your computer on the Internet.) We do not log IP addresses to track your session, nor do we link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable.
  • Survey Data: Information submitted in response to a series of questions pertaining to the respondents’ perceived satisfaction, learning effectiveness, predicted or estimated personal impact concerning a learning event being measured by the ACCD.
  • Cookies: The Site uses "persistent cookies" only for registered users in order to allow those users to have access to the information they have provided to ACCD and to allow them to have access to features and benefits of the site to which have have subscribed.

What does ACCD do with the information it gathers and/or tracks?

  • Reporting and Analysis: ACCD may perform reporting and analysis on the survey data for purposes of continuously improving training programs and showcasing the value of the training in question to ACCD’s potential enrollees.
  • E-mail address: ACCD may use this information to provide you with post-training and follow-up training surveys to measure how satisfied you are with the training and to understand how the training affected your personal life. Various newsletters are sent periodically to inform registered users about ACCD events and activities.
  • Mailing Address: ACCD may use this information for sending communications through the US Postal system and to help focus various marketing programs to a specific geographic area.
In order to protect your personal data and privacy, the ACCD provides each registered user with a user definable password that is required in order to access personal information on the ACCD site.

The input and submission of any information on the Site is strictly voluntary by you, the user of the Site.

At no point will ACCD sell or use personal information for sales and marketing purposes.

What secuirity exists to protect the data and personal information submitted through the site?

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, ensure the appropriate use of information and protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information under our control, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect through the Site.

With whom does the ACCD share the information it gathers and/or tracks?

ACCD shares information with liasions who are responsible for helping to provide the ACCD training events.

To the extent still maintained by ACCD, it will provide you with all of your personal information gathered through the Site upon written request.

A special note about children viewing the site.

The site does not provide content to children and does not collect personally identifiable information from visitors under the age of 18. Therefore, the requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) are not incorporated in this privacy policy.

How long is the information retained?

The logs may be preserved indefinitely and used at any time and in any way necessary to prevent security breaches and to ensure the integrity of the data on our servers. We generally only retain personal information as long as reasonably necessary to provide annual contribution receipts and as long as the registered user has not requested to be removed from active status. Please be aware that email is not necessarily secure from interception or misdirection. For your own protection, to the extent you submit any sensitive information to ACCD, you may wish to do so using a method other than email.

Opting-out, corrections and cancellations.

Upon request, the ACCD will (a) remove you and your personal information from our databases; (b) correct personal information that you state is erroneous; or (c) permit you to "opt out" of further e-mail contact.
