FAQ Interview Question 26
Do
you think that everyone should participate in ACCD training events? And
a related question, are there ever participants that should not be in
the training?
Our trainings
are not for everyone. First of all, we would say no one needs our trainings;
ACCD trainings are tools that God uses in people's lives. They are certainly
not the only tools. That said, we have found they are extremely effective
at producing value in participants' lives when they come and genuinely
participate. So it's really up to the participant to decide if he/she
is ready for our trainings. It depends on their ability to fulfill what
the commitment is. Are they in a place to do so? Are they clear about
what they want to have happen? Are they in a place to inquire if they
need to? If they're not clear about what the training is and how it works,
they shouldn't do it until they are clear about what it is and clear that
they're going to take responsibility for using the tool that the training
is.
People who
have a psychological history (who have been hospitalized, for example)
or are bipolar, schizophrenic, or who have physiological problems that
could be aggravated should not participate in the Breakthrough Training.
It doesn't serve them if they start to cycle when stress comes up or if
they start to avoid stress through the physiological means they normally
employ. We advise people that have a psychological background that's fairly
serious not to do the training. Or if they've been addicted to drugs or
have had some kind of addiction like alcoholism, we require they are clean
for at least six months before they participate in the Breakthrough Training
and at least three months before they participate in the Discovery Seminar.
Our trainings
are designed basically for people whose lives are working at a fundamental
level. Our trainings are not designed to be therapeutic. It is a training.
If someone is in a state where what they really need is therapy, we recommend
they pursue that.
