FAQ Interview Question 35
Did you change your name to ACCD from Mashiyach
Ministries in order to disassociate from criticism on the internet attached
to the name Mashiyach/Momentus?
On our history
on our website, we mention that Mashiyach was our former name, so if we
were trying to disassociate from that, we wouldn't have it on our website.
The answer is no. Mashiyach means 'Messiah'. We initially used that name
because the essence of what we were about was to be in service to Jesus
the Messiah. But it was too confusing to people. No one knew what the
word meant, so we changed the name in an attempt to have a name that clearly
reflected what we were committed to, and that's how we came up with "The
Association for Christian Character Development." That's part of
our history, and we embrace it. It's been part of the journey that God
has made for us.
We embrace
it, just as Daniel Tocchini embraces his time at Lifespring, and the work
that he did at the Catholic Church, and every organization he has been
with, because God's used everybody in his past to contribute in his life.
Momentus
was the original name for what we now call the Breakthrough Training.
This was the first Training Dan Tocchini developed. When Dan developed
the Discovery Seminar in 1999, we changed the name of the Momentus training
to the "Breakthrough Training". The majority of the defamatory
content on the internet is in relation to the Momentus training, now called
Breakthrough, and it is over ten years old.
